To-Do List for Wedding Planning

My husband and I planned our wedding by ourselves, without a wedding planner. We started by creating a list of things to do so we could stay organized. I've had a lot of experience with this now being in the wedding industry, let me know if you need any help or have questions!

-Choose a date.

-Choose a venue.

-Book a photographer and/or videographer.

-Get engagement photos taken!

-Collect addresses for invitations. (We used ineedyouraddress.com)

-Create a gift registry.

-Find a dress for the bride and a suit for the groom.

-Purchase a ring for the groom.

-Apply for a marriage license.

-Plan the honeymoon (book any hotels or tickets you need.)

-Pick your colors and/or theme.

-Find dresses for the bridesmaids and ties for the groomsmen that match your colors.

-Choose a florist to use and pick the flowers for the bouquet, boutonnieres, and decor.

-Choose a cake.

-Address and mail out invitations a month or two before the wedding date.

-Plan what food and drinks you will serve guests at the reception.

-Book a catering company.

-Book a DJ or figure out what you want to do for music. We created a playlist ahead of time and asked someone to be in charge of it at the reception.

-Book any beauty treatments you or the groom need prior to the wedding day. (hair cut, nails, hair stylist, makeup artist etc.)

-If you want to do an exit, decide what to do. (I've seen rice, flower petals, bubbles, sparklers, glow sticks...)

-Create a schedule for the wedding day and share it with the wedding party.

These are just some tips to get you started! Feel free to prioritize with what works best for your wedding!
